Benja Duarte

Benjamín “Benja” Duarte, best known as the former frontman of Chilean cumbia ranchera outfit Grupo Disparo, began his musical ascent in Concepción before moving to Santiago to join the group, initially gaining regional attention with energetic tracks like 2024's “Corazón de Piedra” that showcased his commanding vocals and stage presence. Over the course of multiple hit singles and lively performances at festivals and baile events, Benja Duarte became the face of Grupo Disparo’s modern cumbia-ranchera resurgence. In 2023 and early 2024, his charismatic delivery and leadership helped propel the band’s popularity across Chile. However, in May 2025, he announced his departure from Grupo Disparo, citing creative frustrations, making his official solo debut later that year with the singles "Cuidado Que Te Supero" and "He Vivido Esperando Por Ti."
