Real name Ben da Silva Cristóvão, also known as Benny Cristo, Ben Cristovao is a Czech rapper and singer born to an Angolan father and Czech mother in Plzeň, on June 8, 1987. First noticed on the Česko Slovenská SuperStar TV competition in 2009, he made it all the way to the final and went on to record his debut album Definitely Different, released in 2010. He followed this up with Benny Cristo (2011), then Made in Czechoslovakia (2014). Nominated for the Český slavík in 2013, the rapper and singer won the trophy for most listened-to song in 2016 with the track "Asio". In 2017, the Posledni EP was released, followed by Live Ben and Kontakt in 2019. That same year, he was selected with the track "Kemama" to take part in the 2020 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, which was eventually cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He represented the Czech Republic the following year with another song, "Omaga", which finished in 15th place. After further singles and collaborations, Septum was released in 2025, followed by Khaosan, with Sofian Medjmedj. Their track "Dlouhá Noc" reaches No. 9 in the Czech charts in its first week.
