Bassomatic

Bassomatic, a British musical group from London, was formed in 1990 and featured vocalist Sharon Musgrave, rapper MC Inna Onestep (Steve Roberts, Ramshackle), and producer William Orbit. The band's debut album, Set the Controls for the Heart of the Bass, released in 1990, marked their entry into the electronic music scene. The title track was derived from Pink Floyd's "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun". For their second album, singer Sindy Finn replaced Sharon Musgrave on vocals. Both albums were produced at Guerilla Studios, founded by William Orbit with Laurie Mayer and Grant Gilbert, and released by Virgin Records. Bassomatic achieved notable success with their single "Fascinating Rhythm", which reached Number 9 on the UK Singles Chart and performed well on the UK Dance Chart. The band also released the singles "Funky Love Vibrations" and "Fascinating Rhythm", as well as the single "Go Getta Nutha Man", before disbanding in 1991.
