Balbi el Chamako (born Patricio Oñate on June 23, 2000 in Santiago) began releasing music publicly with the single “Tengo un Ángel” (2019), followed by “Yo Tengo un Ángel – Remix” (2020), laying the foundation for a steady run of urban singles. He broadened his audience with “Pásame la Botella” (2020) and “Pásame la Botella (Remix)” (2021), then broke nationally with “Ponle” (2021) alongside Marcianeke and El Bai, and kept the momentum with “Ponle (Remix)” (2022). His profile surged again with “Ese Corte” (2022) and the higher-profile “Ese Corte (Remix)” (2023), while the collaboration “Ibiza” (2023) with Jere Klein and El Bai pushed him deeper into the Chilean urbano mainstream. A difficult personal milestone arrived at the end of that year when he was briefly kidnapped after a show in Valparaíso in December 2023, an incident widely reported by Chilean media. He rebounded onstage in 2024, headlining his first solo concert at Sala Metrónomo in Santiago on October 13, 2024, and issuing the project Dando un Voltio, Vol. 1 (2024). In 2025 he continued releasing singles that underscored his mix of reggaetón, RKT and Latin trap, including “Tu Cárcel” (2025) and “Ni Una Llamada” (2025).
