David Luciano Acosta, known professionally as Baby Ranks, was born on September 4, 1978, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Emerging from the vibrant reggaeton scene of the early 2000s, he gained prominence through collaborations with Luny Tunes on the influential album Mas Flow 2 (2005), contributing to standout tracks like "Mayor Que Yo," which became a genre-defining hit and earned the Reggaeton Song of the Year award at the 2006 Latin Billboard Music Awards. Building on this success, Baby Ranks released his debut solo album, Mi Flow: This Is It, in 2008, featuring notable songs such as "El Amor Se Fue" with Ángel López and "Verme" featuring Notch. His dynamic collaborations extended to artists like Alexis & Fido on "El Tiburón" and Zion & Lennox on "Es Mejor Olvidarlo". In 2018, he signed with ABM Entertainment Worldwide, leading to the release of his 2019 album The Legend Is Back, reaffirming his status in the reggaeton genre. Continuing to engage audiences, Baby Ranks has remained active in live performances, including appearances at events like the Reggaeton Fest in Charlotte, NC, in April 2025.
