Azul Violeta, a Mexican rock band from Guadalajara, Jalisco, was formed in the late 1980s by Ugo RodrÃguez and César âVampiroâ López, beginning with performances in local art galleries. After several lineup changes, a more stable formation emerged in the early 1990s, including members such as Alejandro Pérez âOrk,â Iván González, and Yuri González. In 1994, the band signed with EMI and recorded their debut album, América, at Peter Gabrielâs Real World Studios, featuring the single âSólo por hoyâ along with tracks like âRenacer.â The release led to a continental tour across Mexico, the United States, and South America. Following further releases in subsequent years, the band entered a period of inactivity before reuniting for a concert in 2008.
