Azul Violeta

Azul Violeta, a Mexican rock band from Guadalajara, Jalisco, was formed in the late 1980s by Ugo Rodríguez and César “Vampiro” López, beginning with performances in local art galleries. After several lineup changes, a more stable formation emerged in the early 1990s, including members such as Alejandro Pérez “Ork,” Iván González, and Yuri González. In 1994, the band signed with EMI and recorded their debut album, América, at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios, featuring the single “Sólo por hoy” along with tracks like “Renacer.” The release led to a continental tour across Mexico, the United States, and South America. Following further releases in subsequent years, the band entered a period of inactivity before reuniting for a concert in 2008.
