Ayla Nereo

Ayla Nereo, an American musician born in Sonoma County, California, grew up appreciating and respecting the earth. She began writing and performing music around 2005, overcoming her fear of singing for people with encouragement from friends. Her debut album Play Me a Time was released on January 5, 2006. Nereo's subsequent albums include Floating Felt (2009), Beheld (2012), Hollow Bone (2014), and The Code of the Flowers (2016). She has also collaborated with her brother as Beatbeat Whisper, with DJ The Polish Ambassador under the name Wildlight, and with a cappella group Starling Arrow. Nereo's music often reflects environmental and progressive values, and she has toured with bands including Rising Appalachia, Trevor Hall, and Nahko and Medicine for the People. Her most recent album is Sovereign Kin – Book I: The Spark, released on September 21, 2023.
