Ayami Mutō

Japanese idol and pop singer Ayami Mutō was born on April 29, 1996, in Toshima, Tokyo. After being scouted by the talent agency Amuse, Inc. in 2004, she began her career as a child model and later joined the short-lived idol group Karen Girl's alongside Suzuka Nakamoto and Yuika Shima. Following the trio's disbandment in 2009, Ayami Mutō became one of the founding members of the idol group Sakura Gakuin and participated in its first sub-unit Twinklestars until her graduation in 2012. DNA1980, her debut double EP, appeared in 2013. Only a year later, she dropped her first studio effort Eien to Shunkan (2014), which peaked at Number 16 on the Oricon charts. In 2015, shortly after releasing a second full-length titled I-Pop, she went on an extended hiatus from her recording career. Ayami Mutō returned in 2020 with the mini-albums Mirrors and I Still Love the Playlist I Gave You Back Then, followed by Shower in 2021. Another mini-album titled Glitter Beat saw the light in 2022 and marked her return to the Japanese charts, reaching Number 62 on the Billboard Japan Albums chart.
