Augie Meyers

Augie Meyers (born 31 May 1940 in San Antonio, Texas) was an American keyboardist, guitarist, pianist, accordionist and singer. He rose to prominence in the early 1960s as a founding member of the Sir Douglas Quintet, where his Vox organ defined the group’s sound. After the Sir Douglas Quintet, he worked with Doug Sahm and later co‑founded the Texas Tornados, playing piano for the ensemble. Augie Meyers’ solo albums include Western Head Music Co. (1971), White Boy (1992), Blame It on Love (2002), and The Real Tex‑Mex (2015). He collaborated with John & Mary on Victory Gardens (1991) and recorded with Bob Dylan on Time Out of Mind (1997). Augie Meyers died on 7 March 2026.
