Astral Doors, a Swedish heavy metal band from Borlänge, was formed in 2002. The group initially consisted of Nils Patrik Johansson, Joachim Nordlund, and Martin Haglund, who were all active musicians at the Rock House club. Their breakthrough came with the release of their debut album Of the Son and the Father in October 2003, which reached Number 5 in Germany's Rock Hard magazine. The band's sound evolved through subsequent releases such as Evil Is Forever (February 2005), Astralism (March 2006), and New Revelation (September 2007). Notable songs include "Far Beyond the Astral Doors" and "Black Rain". The band supported Blind Guardian on their 2006 tour for the album A Twist in the Myth. In January 2010, Martin Haglund retired from the band.
