Assala

Assala Mostafa Hatem Nasri is a Syrian singer born on May 15, 1969, in Damascus. She began her musical career at age 14 by performing patriotic, religious, and children's songs. She performed the theme song “Qessas Al Sho'oub” for the television show Hekayat Alamiyah. Nasri's commercial debut occurred in 1991 with the recording Law Ta'rafou, which included the tracks “Ya Sabra Yana” and “Samehtak Ketir”. Her discography included the studio recordings Ighdab (1993), Wala Tessadda’ (1994), and Rahal (1995). In 2006, she married Tarek Alarian and later relocated to Cairo. She hosted the television program Soula and served as a judge on the debut season of Saudi Idol in 2022. In 2019, Nasri performed “Right Where I'm Supposed to Be” as the official song of the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi. Her later recordings included Shayfa Feek (2022) and Daribet El Bo3d (2025).
