Askia Modibo

Askia Modibo, born Modibo Koné in 1968 in Ké-Macina, Mali, is a Malian singer known for his contributions to African reggae. Initially performing traditional Bambara songs under the name Modibo Koné, Askia Modibo transitioned to reggae and gained recognition through collaborations with notable artists such as Alpha Blondy and Tiken Jah Fakoly. His debut album Wass Reggae was released in 1996. In 2001, he released an album dedicated to the Mali national football team, titled Mali foot, allez pour la victoire. Askia Modibo also released the album Wally-Mousso in 2015.
