Daniel Holc, known professionally as Ascii.Disko, was born in 1975 in Hamburg, Germany. He began his career as a producer and disc jockey in the electronic music scene. His breakthrough came with the release of the EP Immer / Strassen in 2002 on the label L'Ãge d'or, which featured the club hit "Strassen". This led to the release of his debut album Ascii.Disko in 2003 under the same label. In 2011, Ascii.Disko released his fourth studio album, Black Orchid: From Airlines to Lifelines, which blended downtempo beats with synthpop sounds. Throughout his career, Holc collaborated with various artists and released notable singles such as "Hey" (2007) and "Closer" (2007). He also lived in Madrid before settling on Majorca with his wife Ana Laura Alaez, a singer from the Spanish group Girls on Film.
