The band’s lineup includes Patty Walters (vocals), Ben Biss (bass and backing vocals), Dan Lambton (guitar), Rory Lott (guitar), and Ali Appelton (drums). As It Is's ability to balance infectious pop-punk hooks with emotionally charged songwriting quickly garnered them a devoted fanbase, particularly in the US, where they toured extensively. Their sophomore album okay.(2017) marked a significant evolution in their sound, embracing a more polished, pop-driven approach while retaining their trademark emotional depth. The album was met with widespread acclaim, and tracks like "Pretty Little Distance" and "okay." became anthems for fans struggling with self-acceptance and finding hope amidst chaos. Their 2018 album The Great Depression further showcased their growth, incorporating more mature and introspective themes, dealing with everything from societal pressures to the darker sides of mental health. In 2025, As It Is released a 10 year anniversary version of their 2015 debut album Never Happy, Ever After, titled Never Happy, Ever After X, with 13 special guests in tow, including Kellin Quinn and Sum 41 guitarist Dave Brownsound.
