Born in Niort (Deux-Sèvres) on September 17, 1984, Anne Paceo grew up in Daola, Côte d'Ivoire, and moved to Paris in 1996. Attracted to the drums from the age of ten, she began performing on stage in 1998, accompanying Stéphane Kochoyan until 2001 and taking part in master classes, before studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris from 2005 to 2009, with Riccardo Del Fra and Dré Pallemaerts. Involved in various groups with guitarist Christian Escoudé, she formed her first band Triphase, which recorded two albums for the independent Laborie Jazz label, Triphase (2008) and Empreintes (2010). After several festival appearances and her first Victoire du jazz award, the Franck Ténot revelation prize in 2011, Anne Paceo produced the album Yôkaï (2012) with new partners, then Circles (2016), with Émile Parisien (saxophone), Leïla Martial (vocals) and Tony Paeleman (keyboards). Awarded the Victoire du jazz for artist of the year in 2016, the drummer and composer won the same trophy in 2019 for the album Bright Shadows (2019), which saw her introduce vocal parts into her tracks, as will now be the case in the EP Samâ (2020) and later in Circles (Live at Festival Sous les Pommiers), the first release on her own Jusqu'à la Nuit label, as well as the collection S.H.A.M.A.N.E.S. (2023), with contributions from singers Isabelle Sörling and Marion Rampal. In 2025, the drummer invites vocalists Piers Faccini, Laura Cahen, Cynthia Abraham and Gildaa on the album Atlantis (2025), acclaimed by specialist critics and ranked No. 3 in the SNEP top jazz albums chart.
