Anna Lesko, born Anna Stepanivna Lyzhychko on January 10, 1979, in ChiÈinÄu, Republic of Moldova, is a Moldovan-Romanian singer who moved to Romania at 17. Her music career began in 2002 with the single "Ard în flÄcÄri" ("Burning in Flames") from her debut album FlÄcÄri (Flames). In 2003, she released Inseparabili (Inseparable), earning a gold disc in Romania. Her third album, Pentru tine (For You), followed in 2004. Lesko's hits frequently topped Romaniaâs Top 40, with "Anicyka Maya" peaking at number 2 for a month in 2005. She signed with Cat Music in 2007 and released the single "1001 DorinÈe" (1001 Wishes).
