Anna Lesko

Anna Lesko, born Anna Stepanivna Lyzhychko on January 10, 1979, in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, is a Moldovan-Romanian singer who moved to Romania at 17. Her music career began in 2002 with the single "Ard în flăcări" ("Burning in Flames") from her debut album Flăcări (Flames). In 2003, she released Inseparabili (Inseparable), earning a gold disc in Romania. Her third album, Pentru tine (For You), followed in 2004. Lesko's hits frequently topped Romania’s Top 40, with "Anicyka Maya" peaking at number 2 for a month in 2005. She signed with Cat Music in 2007 and released the single "1001 Dorințe" (1001 Wishes).
