Andrew Denton

Andrew Christopher Denton, born 4 May 1960 in Australia, is a comedian and television personality whose career has spanned radio and television, with limited recorded music output. Andrew Christopher Denton entered the public eye through radio, writing for Doug Mulray on Triple M Sydney and later hosting morning shows that featured comedic and musical segments. His first foray into recorded music came with the 1992 novelty single “I Don’t Care As Long As We Beat New Zealand”, released under his name with Live and Sweaty. The single was issued through ABC Television in association with Festival Records and combined comedic performance with a sporting theme, peaking at number 38 on the ARIA Singles Chart. Subsequent releases were limited to compilation appearances; in 2000, the compilation album The Andrew Denton Breakfast Show Musical Challenge was issued by Columbia Records and certified Gold by the ARIA. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Andrew Christopher Denton continued to collaborate with a variety of artists on radio and television, including musical guests on his show The Money or the Gun, where performers were challenged to reinterpret classic songs in diverse styles.
