Anders Bagge

As one half of the Swedish songwriting/production team Bagge & Peer, Anders Bagge has created material for globally-celebrated pop acts like Madonna, Enrique Iglesias, Celine Dion, and Laura Fabian. He also enjoyed a hit of his own with 2022's "Bigger than the Universe," which peaked at Number 2 on Sweden's Sverigetopplistan chart. He was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on January 16, 1968, and began his career as a member of the group Legacy of Sound. The band enjoyed a brief taste of international success with 1993's "Happy," which peaked at Number 18 in Sweden and Number 29 on the American Mainstream Top 40. Although Legacy of Sound broke up that same year decade, Bagge launched his own production company, Murlyn Music Group, in 1997 and spent decades focusing on behind-the-scenes work as a producer and songwriter. His early successes including 98 Degrees' platinum-selling hit "Because of You" (which peaked at Number 3 in America, Number 7 in Canada, and Number 36 in the UK) and Janet Jackson's "All Nite (Don't Stop)" (a Number 1 hit on the US Dance Club Songs chart), both of which featured Anders Bagge's sonic stamp as a producer and songwriter. By the early 2020s, he had contributed songs to the catalogs of Westlife, Jennifer Lopez, Santana, and others, and his appearances on national TV shows like Swedish Idol and Made in Sweden made him one of the most recognizable figures in the Swedish music industry. He participated in the country's annual song competition, Melodifestivalen, as a solo artist in 2022. His composition, "Bigger than the Universe," ultimately finished in second place, and the song itself peaked at Number 2 on the Swedish charts that March.
