Amelia Curran

Amelia Curran, born in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, is a Canadian singer-songwriter who began playing guitar and writing songs as a teenager. She released her debut album, Barricade, in 2000. In 2006, War Brides earned nominations for two East Coast Music Association Awards. Her 2009 album Hunter, Hunter, recorded in St. John's, won a Juno Award for Roots and Traditional Album of the Year: Solo. Curran is also known for her advocacy for mental healthcare services and has been involved in a nonprofit organization to raise awareness about mental health issues.
