An off-shoot of Chicago, Illinois’ Family Tree Crew, the hip-hop duo All Natural formed in 1997 when DJ Tone B. Nimble and rapper Capital D issued “Writer’s Block”. The underground and indie minded pair managed to sell a few thousand of their first album, 1998’s No Additives, No Preservatives. They waited three years to release their sophomore album, the jazz inflected Second Nature, which included appearances by fellow Chi-town artists as Spotlight and J.U.I.C.E. They would continue with other work and reunite every few years for a new All Natural album including 2005’s Vintage and 2008’s Elements (Fire).
