Serkan Burak TektaÅ, known professionally as AliÅan, was born on June 19, 1976, in ÅiÅhane district of Istanbul, Turkey. He is a singer and actor of Kurdish descent from KiÄı, Bingöl Province. While still in high school, AliÅan recorded his first album Derdo â ElazıÄ'ın Güzelleri under the name Serkan Burak. His breakthrough came with the release of his hit album Sana Bir Åey Olmasın in 1997. AliÅan's discography includes notable albums such as Olay BitmiÅtir (2005) and Seni Biraz Fazla Sevdim (2013). AliÅan is also known for his acting roles, notably as Ferhat in the television series Cennet Mahallesi, and his work as a TV presenter on various shows.
