Cho Yong-jin, professionally known as Ali, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, pianist, and educator born on November 20, 1984, in Seoul. She made her official debut in 2009 and gained widespread recognition through her performances on KBS2's Immortal Songs 2, where she holds the record for the highest score and most wins by a female artist, earning her the nickname "madam of Immortal Songs." Ali's musical repertoire spans K-pop and R&B, and she has contributed vocals to tracks by artists like Leessang and released several original soundtracks for Korean dramas. In 2011, she released her first studio album, SOULri. Over the years she has releases, including mini albums like White Hole (2015) and Expand (2017), singles like "Only You" (2018) and "Azaleas" (2025). Beyond her music career, she serves as a professor of applied musical arts at Seoul Technical Arts College, mentoring artists such as BtoB's Changsub and Hyunsik, and Kim Feel. Ali has also ventured into musical theater, notably portraying Mrs. Danvers in the Korean adaptation of Rebecca.
