Alex Sensation

Javier Alexander Zalazar (born 1979), known professionally as Alex Sensation, is a Colombian‑born DJ, radio personality, producer, and recording artist whose career stretches from club decks to international urbano collaborations. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, he moved to the United States in his teens and began working in clubs as a teenager, including at New York’s famed Copacabana by age 17, after building experience spinning records influenced by an older brother who was also a DJ. He transitioned into radio in La Mega 97.9 FM’s midday mix segment before establishing himself as one of the most recognizable Latin music DJs in the U.S., mixing live at venues such as Madison Square Garden, the Izod Center, Nokia Theatre, and United Palace across multiple cities. In 2009 he released the mix album Alex Sensation & Friends: La Mega Mezcla (Planet Records), and in 2015 he dropped his own version of “Báilame” featuring Yandel and Shaggy after signing a record deal with Universal Music Latin Entertainment. Across the late 2010s he continued recording collaborations that charted on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs, including “La Mala y la Buena” with Gente de Zona, “Que Va” with Ozuna, “Fantasía” with Bad Bunny, “La Diabla” with Nicky Jam, and “Pa’ Lante” with Anitta and Luis Fonsi. Into the 2020s he issued singles such as “FUEGO” (2024), “Ven Ven” (2025), and “La Depre” (2025), which peaked at number 50 on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart.
