Alex Butcher

Alexander Metzger, known professionally as Alex Butcher, was born on April 18, 1969, in Germany. He started his career as a DJ and music producer, gaining early recognition as Lightjockey & DJ of the Frankfurt Airport Disco Dorian Gray from 1988 to 2000. His breakthrough came in 1991 with the release of "Sound to Light – He Butcher" on Overdrive Records, which became a significant club hit. Butcher's success continued with various productions and remixes, including collaborations with Culture Beat, Dance 2 Trance, Mark ’Oh, Kim Sanders, DJ Taylor & Flow (Global Deejays), Pascal Feos, Manuel Schleis. In 1994, his remix of "Adelante" by Culture Beat reached Number 10 in both the USA and Euro charts. He also achieved notable chart positions with tracks like "Ride" by Kim Sanders (German Sales Charts Top 80) and "The Reason is you" by Nina (Spain Sales Charts Top 10). In 1995, Butcher co-founded the club project Der Verfall with Alexander Abraham, which saw chart success in Germany and Austria. His solo singles, including "Sweet Dreams" (2002), further solidified his presence in the electronic music scene.
