Albin Lee Meldau

The Swedish singer/songwriter Albin Lee Meldau was born in Gothenburg on February 8, 1988. Raised by parents who worked as professional musicians, he formed his first band at 12 years old and developed a soulful sound informed by classic vocalists like Sam Cooke and Van Morrison. He then released "Lou Lou," his first single as a solo artist, in 2016. The song charted at Number 77 on Sweden's Sverigetopplistan chart and appeared on Albin Lee Meldau's debut EP, Lovers, that December. Produced by Björn Yttling of the indie rock band Peter Bjorn and John, Lovers was released by Astralwerks, as well as its 2017 follow-up, Bloodshot. Nominated for "Best Newcomer" at the 2017 Grammis — Sweden's equivalent of the Grammy Awards — Albin Lee Meldau began working on his full-length debut album. The resulting record, About You, was released in June 2018 and climbed to Number 2 on the Swedish charts, with songs like "The Weight Is Gone" and "I Need Your Love" being released as singles. Albin Lee Meldau appeared on the ninth season of the Swedish reality TV series Så mycket bättre later that year. A holiday effort, Merry Little Christmas, was released in 2019 and charted at Number 12, with På svenska (Sida A) following in 2020. One year later, he released "Josefin," the first single from a forthcoming EP of Swedish songs.
