Akira Terao

Akira Terao, born Akira Terao on May 18, 1947, in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, is a Japanese musician and actor. He began his music career in 1966 as the bassist for The Savage, a group sounds band, releasing his solo debut album was in 1970 and gaining significant recognition with his 1981 hit song "Ruby no Yubiwa" from the album Reflections, which sold 1.6 million copies in Japan. He followed this with Atmosphere (1983) and Standard (1987), returning later in his career with Re-Cool Reflections (2006). As an actor, he has appeared in several films including Dreams (1990), and After the Rain (1999).
