è«è¨ªå æ¶å (Akiko Suwanai), born on February 7, 1972, in Tokyo, Japan, is a classical violinist. She began playing the violin at age three and won several competitions during her childhood. At 18, she became the youngest winner of the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1990. Suwanai studied under notable instructors, including Toshiya Eto, Dorothy DeLay, Cho-Liang Lin, and Uwe-Martin Haiberg. Throughout her career, she has performed with prestigious orchestras and conductors, premiering works by composers such as Krzysztof Penderecki and Lera Auerbach. Notable albums include Bruch's Concerto No. 1 · Scottish Fantasy and Sibelius & Walton's Violin Concertos. Suwanai has been based in Paris since the 2000s and primarily records in Europe.
