Akhlou Brick, or Akhlou Brick Paradise, was formed by a group of young Senegalese rappers united by their desire to make rap music. Created in 2011 by Arafat and Ridial, two rappers who were already working under the pseudonyms Mist'Ara and Dayza Kala, they saw the group as a way of strengthening themselves and their artistic independence. Part of an alternative Senegalese rap scene, Akhlou Brick began to make a name for themselves with the release of their single "Nioun La Boyou Kan" in 2012. Their rap responded to each other, and these youngsters from M'bour moved the public's attention to a stage outside Dakar. Their fame exploded in 2014 with the track "Sama Choice", which reached an international audience. A first album, ADBD, logically followed, enabling the group to perform live in Senegal. As the project grows in maturity and experience, it manages to export itself, notably to Paris for an event around the Senegalese scene (Hip-Hop Galsen) in April 2017, then through new productions, with the album Hello World in 2019. Despite an unavoidable halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Akhlou Brick continues his rise and gathers millions of listeners with new tracks, such as "Negu Gorr", then his third album Raps Royce unveiled on March 10, 2023.
