Japanese singer and songwriter Morii Aimi, known professionally as Aimyon, was born on March 6, 1995 in Nishinomiya, HyÅgo, Japan. During her teenage years, she began learning the acoustic guitar and started writing songs, gradually sharing them on social media, catching the attention of the record label Lastrum Music Entertainment. In early 2015, Aimyon wrote the lyrics for the song "Time Goes By" by the Japanese group Johnny's West. Following this, she released her debut single "Anata Kaibou Jun'aika (Shine)" (è²´æ¹è§£åç´ææ~æ»ã~) which gained recognition by entering the Top 10 of the Japanese independent charts. Aimyon signed a contract with unBORDE, a division of Warner Music Group, after releasing two mini-albums in 2015 entitled tamago and Nikumarekko Yo ni Habakaru (æã¾ãã£åä¸ã«æã). In 2017, Aimyon released her first album titled Excitement of Youth (鿥ã®ã¨ããµã¤ãã¡ã³ã) which charted at number 26. Her subsequent album, Momentary Sixth Sense (ç¬éçã·ãã¯ã¹ã»ã³ã¹), released in 2019, earned her considerable accolades including the Excellence Artist Award (61st Japan Record Awards) and Artist of the Year (Billboard Japan Awards). Follow-up albums Heard That There's Good Pasta (ãããããã¹ã¿ãããã¨èãã¦) and Falling into Your Eyes Record (ç³ã¸è½ã¡ããã¬ã³ã¼ã) appeared in 2020 and 2022 respectively, both taking the number 2 position with the singer taking home the Album of the Year award at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan for the latter. Aimyon's success continued with a string of top 10 singles including "Her Blue Sky" (空ã®éããç¥ã人ã) (2019), "Heart" (ãã¼ã) (2021) and "My First Love Is Crying" (åæãæ³£ãã¦ãã) (2022). She returned with the singles âAi no Hanaâ, (2023) "Anone" (2023) and "Wish I Could See You, But" (ä¼ãã«è¡ãã®ã«) (2024) from her 5th studio album Jealous of Cats, appearing in September 2024.
