Agarrate Catalina

Agarrate Catalina, a carnival group (murga) from Uruguay, was founded in 2001. Yamandú Cardozo and Carlos Tanco were key figures who founded the group and wrote its texts, along with Tabaré Cardozo. The group gained early recognition by winning the Murga joven contest in 2002 after performing "El Tablado amateur". They debuted in the Carnaval mayor in 2003 presenting the show "El tiempo". Their first album, El tiempo, was released in 2004. Agarrate Catalina achieved significant success with albums such as Los sueños (2005) and El fin del mundo (2006), winning the official carnival contest in the 1st position in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2011, and 2020. The group also undertook extensive tours across Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Spain, Cuba, Panama, and Mexico.
