2NE1 were a South Korean girl group featuring pop singers known as Bom, Dara, CL and Minzy who had a run of success after they were established in 2009 by YG Entertainment. They became one of the most popular girl groups in the country and also achieved chart success in Japan. They disbanded in 2016 to pursue solo careers. A single titled 'Lollipop', on which they collaborated with boy band Big Bang, was used in a promotion for LG Electronics in 2009 and garnered them their first attention. Their 2010 release 'To Anyone', produced by will.i.am, peaked at number seven on Billboard's World Albums Chart, their 2011 EP '2NE1 2nd Mini Album' reached number four and 'Crush' (2014) went to number two on the World Chart, number nine on Billboard's Independent Albums Chart and number 61 on the Billboard 200. They had 12 singles on the Billboard Korea K-Pop Hot 100 including eight top ten hits. 'Ugly' (2011) went to number three, 'I Love You' (2012) number one, 'Do You Love Me' (2013), 'Missing You' (2014) and 'Come Back Home' (2014) all reached number two, 'Gotta Be You' (2014) peaked at number four, 'If I Were You' (2014) number seven and 'Crush' number nine.
