2 Skinnee J's

2 Skinnee J's, an American hip hop band from Brooklyn, New York, was formed in 1991 by Special J and Rabbi J-Slim on vocals, Joey Viturbo on guitar, Sammy B on bass guitar, DJ Casper on keyboards, and Andy Action on drums. The group initially gained traction through heavy touring and independent releases such as the cassette 6 Songs for 5 Bucks in 1993. In 1998, they signed with Capricorn Records and released their debut album, SuperMercado. After a series of lineup changes and label issues, including a delay in releasing their second album, Volumizer (2002), 2 Skinnee J's broke up in 2003 following the release of Sexy Karate on Dolphins vs Unicorns Records. The band briefly reunited for several tours between 2005 and 2012.
