1990s is a Scottish indie rock trio formed in Glasgow, Scotland, consisting of vocalist Jackie McKeown, bassist Dino Bardot, and drummer Michael McGaughrin; the band emerged from the earlier project The Yummy Fur and was signed to Rough Trade Records after only six live performances. Their debut single, âYouâre Supposed To Be My Friendâ, was released in 2006, followed by the single âSee You At The Lightsâ in 2007. The album Cookies was released in 2007, and the band supported acts such as Babyshambles and Franz Ferdinand on UK tours. In 2009, Kicks was released on 23 March, produced by Bernard Butler and featuring the track âThe Boxâ; the albumâs single â59â received a video filmed on a Glasgow bus and was noted for its harmony-driven sound. After a hiatus, 1990s re-formed in 2022, performing live for the first time in ten years and releasing Nude Restaurant on 24 June 2022 through Last Night in Glasgow Records, an album that had been recorded in 2011. The bandâs catalog includes later singles such as âMy Babyâs Double Espressoâ (2022).
